I recently completed the development of Prosbase, a robust web application designed to provide League of Legends esports fans with a centralized hub for all the information they need.
Client Goals:
My client wanted a platform that would address the fragmented nature of existing LoL Pro Players Data resources. Their primary goals were to:
- Consolidate Information: Bring together disparate data sources into a single, easily accessible platform.
- Enhance Players Engagement: Provide Players with a more engaging and informative experience.
- Strategic Pro Build Analysis: Enable players to follow the champion builds and strategies used by professional players in the current meta, providing valuable insights into optimal gameplay.
- Streamer Hub: Offer a centralized hub where users can discover all League of Legends streamers, with the added ability to see which platforms they are streaming on.
My Solution:
ProsBase achieves these goals by offering a comprehensive suite of features:
- Real-time Leaderboards: Dynamically updated leaderboards provide instant access to player rankings across various regions. Users can apply filters to view players by country, team affiliation, or league participation. Additionally, users can tailor their search based on the LoL server players play on, whether they belong to a team, and their specific role.
- In-Depth Player Profiles: Detailed player profiles provide extensive information, including peak rank history, team affiliations, and account details (such as alternate accounts they’ve played on). Additional information like age and other relevant player stats are also included.
- Team and League Overview: Users can easily follow their favorite teams and leagues, with access to schedules, rosters, and results. This involved designing an intuitive interface that enables seamless navigation and real-time updates.
- Strategic Pro Build Analysis: ProsBase allows users to analyze the champion builds and strategies used by professional players in the current meta. This feature provides valuable insights into optimal gameplay, helping players stay on top of the ever-evolving competitive scene. This feature required a robust backend to collect and display up-to-date build data.
- Streamer Hub: ProsBase also serves as a central platform for discovering League of Legends streamers, enabling users to see all streamers in one place and find out which platforms they’re streaming on. This integration consolidates all relevant information, offering a seamless viewing experience for fans.
